If your Chime Visa Debit Card is ever lost or stolen, you can temporarily block it:

  1. Open the Chime app
  2. Then click on Settings and turn off Chime Card Transactions.
  3. Get a new card:

At this time, unfortunately, Chime does not offer any cardless ATM services yet unless you use your physical card. Chime is not a physical bank but instead is actually a financial technology company. The Bancorp Bank and the Stride Bank handle the debit card and banking services and, of course, are both licensed banks and also Members FDIC.

Chime has not added this cardless service for ATMs yet. Chime does provide fee-free withdrawals at over 55,000 locations at MoneyPass, Allpoint, Visa Plus Alliance ATMs nationwide, and 19,000 are currently cardless locations. 

At this time, you will still need your Chime physical card or over-the-counter at most major banks or credit union branches to make your transactions using and showing your physical card.

Since cardless ATM access is not available yet by Chime, you can still get money out of your Chime account without a card:

  1. Obtain a prepaid debit card or Pay using your Chime Mobile App.
  2. Ask your friend with a Chime account to withdraw for you.

Use a Mobile Payment App

        2. Click Move Money (the bottom icon on your phone app.)

A couple of options are then available such as:

  • Direct Deposit 
  • Depositing a check 
  • Depositing cash at an ATM (Automated Teller Machine)
  • Transferring from another Bank Account or Card Account.

        3. Click Transfers

The app will say add money from an external account, and at the bottom of the app, you can see it says link your external account.

Chime uses Plaid to link your Bank details and is secure. Plaid is a large company that allows you to connect your banks instantaneously, so you don’t have to worry about details. 

There will automatically be a list of the most popular Banks to choose from, or you can type in the Bank that you wish to utilize.

  • Enter the login credentials for your other Card or Bank accounts, such as email and password.
  • Plaid will then verify your information.
  • Then choose the account you want to have set up.

(The Card account you have will then be instantly linked to your Chime Visa Debit Account.)

This will allow you to then be able to transfer money into your Chime Visa Debit Account.

After you have linked your other card account with your Chime spending account, you can then use the Chime app, so you are able to make money transfers from your different card account to your Chime Spending Account, with the

following limits:

    There is a maximum of $10,000 for each calendar day.

    There is a maximum of $25,000 for each calendar month.

Normally your funds will then be available within (5) business days.

2. Ask a Friend With Chime Account To Withdraw For You

The request you send has to be to another Chime account holder. Your friend will receive either an email or SMS message from Chime. This message will contain a link to their Chime mobile app that they can use to make the payment to your Chime account. Once your friend pays your request, the money will be instantly deposited into your Chime account.

There may be times when instant digital payments may be delayed due to timing or other factors. Also, any unpaid Pay Friends request will automatically cancel after 14 days.

  1. Log in to your Chime mobile app.
  2. Click on the Pay Friends button on the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Click on “Search People.”
  4. Next, enter the name, phone number, or email of the person from who you want to send money, and again must also be a Chime member.
  5. Next, enter the amount of money you want to send and write a brief description.
  6. Last you will click Send.

The transfer is instant, and there is no fee to send or request money from Chime! You can transfer up to $2,000 per month.

If your balance is paid and you wish to cancel your account and/or card, you can do so one of two ways:

  1. Log into your Chime account and follow the directions to cancel your account. 
  2. Call Chime support at 844-244-6363. 
  • Then choose Option 1.  
  • Next, verify your information and then choose Option 4.
  • Listen to the responses and confirm the information is correct. 

Once you finish the call, your account closure should process around 11 Pm CST the same day.
