Direct Express Authentication Email
Payer authentication is a fraud-prevention measure that allows a merchant to verify that the cardholder authorizes the transaction.
MasterCard uses a 3D secure authentication system. This means that when you pay bills online or make Internet purchases with your Direct Express card, you may receive an email requesting payer authentication.
All you need to do is click the “authenticate payment” button in the email and confirm.
