Direct Express doesn’t publicly share any routing numbers for their cards. Comerica is the underlying bank for your routing number.

The routing number for the Direct Express Mastercard Account is assigned along with an account number by the card’s issuer Comerica Bank, so you are not needed to sign up or activate a new or replacement card done automatically.

After you sign up and activate your Direct Express Mastercard, Comerica Bank will then notify the Social Security Administration that you have an account with Direct Express. Your benefits will then be direct deposited to your new Direct Express Account.

An example of this routing number can be found at the bottom of your checks, where you will see printed numbers in a line. The printed numbers are the account number, Comerica’s bank routing number, and the individual check number.
