How Much I Can Take Off My Chime Card

Banks and Credit Unions — You are allowed to withdraw cash physically at a credit union or local bank by showing your Chime Visa Debit Card at the teller window for your withdrawal. Withdrawing money at the teller is normally labeled an Over-the-counter withdrawal, and there is a $2.50 fee every time you withdraw cash this way, with a limit of up to $500.00 per day.

A fee of $2.50 per transaction and the total incurred including ATM and Over-The-Counter Withdrawals, funds withdrawn at a POS (point of sale), and purchases are all subject to a total of $2,500 maximum per day on your card. 

An out-of-network provider, ATM owner-operators, merchants, and participating banks may impose their own lower limits and fees on cash withdrawals.

If any in-network ATM accidentally charged you a fee, then simply send a message from the Chime mobile app, so Chime can find the issue and credit any mistake made back into your account.

Chime will reimburse the $2.50 fee one time as long as you have received any direct deposit in the amount of $1 or more since June 1, 2021, from an employer or payroll provider, gig economy payer via automated clearing house (ACH) transfer or Original Credit Transaction (OCT), or government benefits.

Get Cashback When You Make A Purchase

If you are using app version 3.4 or later, the ATM Finder identifies an additional 38,000 cashback locations at major merchants across the US such as Walmart, CVS, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and major grocery chains like Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Safeway.

The maximum cashback amount allowed by the merchant varies by merchant. Generally, grocery stores allow for up to $100 cashback, whereas drugstores like Walgreen’s and CVS allow for $40 cashback.

Nearly all of the merchants have a minimum purchase amount, and you should check with the merchant to verify or check the card reader screen at the register before finalizing your purchase to verify if there is a fee.
