How To Use Your Chime Temporary Card

While your new Chime Card is on its way, you can access your funds in a few different ways. You can use the temporary digital card feature available in the setting section of the Chime app. Once your physical card has been activated, the temporary digital card will be replaced with your new physical card.

The Chime temporary digital card shows in the Settings section with a complete card number, expiration date, and CVV. This temporary card can be used to buy things or pay bills online.

With this information of your new card that’s on the way, you are allowed to go ahead and add your card to your Digital Wallet for Apple or Google Pay so you can make purchases at a point of sale.

You can also go ahead and link your temporary card to money transfer apps such as Venmo, Cash App, and Facebook Pay. Since there is no PIN, the card must be run as credit in this situation.

Can I Use My Temporary Chime Card To Withdraw Money?

Chime doesn’t offer cardless ATM withdrawals, meaning you cannot withdraw money from Chime if you don’t have your debit card on you.

However, Chime supports Over-the-Counter (OTC) Withdrawals where you can hand your Chime card to a bank teller, and they will withdraw cash for you. Chime charges a $2.50 fee for each OTC Withdraw, and there is a limit of $500 per day. Also, remember that most banks have ATMs that support cash withdraws also.
